Following the Unfolding Story
Series: Reading the Bible for All It’s Worth
Title: Following the Unfolding Storyline
Reading: Acts 6:1-7 & 8:1-25
One of the unique aspects of the Bible is the number of stories, both long and short, that we encounter. Recognising these as narratives enables us to read in line with the genre - and therefore get closer to the intention - of the writer(s). Story is an invitation to imagination, possibility, and an unfolding (and ongoing?) message.
(‘How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth’, Chapters 5-6)
